Favorite verse: 1 John 3:1-2

The oldest of six children, Miriam Laskowski was born in Brockville, Ontario, and raised in Watertown, New York, on her family’s produce farm – The Pokey Garden. Miriam was homeschooled and quickly learned that she loved teaching her younger siblings. During the summer, when school wasn’t in session, she wrote schoolbooks to play school with. Teaching in a classroom was a lifelong dream of hers, but she spent seven years working in a pretzel bakery before she stepped into an elementary classroom in 2021.

After two years of teaching, Miriam enrolled in the Teacher Apprenticing Program at Faith Builders and graduated in 2025.

Miriam enjoys reading, collecting books, spending time with people, hiking, and most things domestic. Her strongest passion is seeing the Kingdom of God grow, and she is grateful to be a part of that work.
