Guiding verses: Psalms 86:10-12 – For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. Ephesians 4:4-16; I Corinthians 15:21-22, 58
Kyler Martin grew up as the oldest of six siblings in the little-known western side of the North Country of New York State. His father’s family moved there as part of a church plant in the 80s while his mother lived in Paraguay for most of her single life. The North Country is home to the Adirondacks where Kyler and his family have spent many wonderful hours in between homeschooling, traveling to Central America, and running a family excavation business. Kyler decided to try pushing pencils instead of joysticks and graduated from TAP in 2019. Following that, he worked for six years to help start a school in his home community while also getting married to a fine soprano singer from Stuarts Draft and starting a family together. Books, mountains, and choral music have helped cultivate wonder and depth in between administrating and teaching junior and high school. Kyler is devoted to deep relationships, the work of the church, the labor of education, and to knowing.
Abigail (Miller) Martin lived in the lovely Shenandoah Valley of Virginia except for frequent trips related to her father’s speaking engagements, mission work in Kenya, an abbreviated period in Ireland, and numerous singing tours. She grew up immersed in books and reading has remained somewhere in the realm of survival, addiction, vocation, and hobby. Abigail is number three of her six siblings, one of which lives in Poland, another in Ireland, and the rest in the US. She delights in her garden (especially the flowers and herbs), depends on her morning tea, and is happy wandering the woods and meadows on a foraging expedition.
They are deeply grateful for the opportunity to walk together in the adventure of marriage and family life and glad that God has given them, Edmund, their son to join them. They envision building a family that pays attention and that loves and sees as God does in the hope of the resurrection.
