Joseph grew up in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. When he was eleven, he moved with his family to Ireland for a year and a half. There he learned to love black tea, new cultures, and the Irish Sea. He spent his remaining years of young adulthood back in Stuarts Draft, Virginia, where he graduated from Pilgrim Christian School in 2017.
After working at the family garden center for two years, he moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia, to teach the upper grades at Kempsville Mennonite School. Three delightful years of teaching later, he enrolled in the Teacher Apprenticing Program at Faith Builders. The two years at Faith Builders were rich and formative for him, and he graduated as part of the Class of 2024.
Joseph loves the lusciousness of a choir’s sound, the ring of a tight barbershop chord, the stoutness of a mug of French press coffee, and the musty smell of a used bookstore. He is passionate about partnering with God to bring redemption to the world through the discipling of young adults.
