Favorite Musical Piece: The Messiah

Brenda Hershberger was born and raised in the lovely Shenandoah Valley of Virgina. Her life has been rich with a variety of experiences – growing up on a dairy farm with 7 siblings, teaching school for 12 years, singing with multiple choirs, and serving as a secretary and/or administrative assistant for 29 years in a variety of non-profit organizations.

Learning from good teachers (and books) has been a joy and a gift. Her church school, Calvary Bible School, SMBI, Faith Builders, mentors, pastors, and Sunday school teachers all helped to shape her beliefs and life trajectory. She attended multiple Faith Builders’ colloquies and teacher events before coming as a 2-year student and graduated from the MAP program in 2006.

Aside from her work, she is an unapologetic fan of choral music; deeply values relationships, God’s beautiful creation, and her 27 nieces and nephews. Studying and growing in her life with God has been, above all, the most meaningful experience of her life. She has an increasing desire to encourage others to find creative and meaningful ways to walk more closely with our Gentle Shepherd.
