From the desk of Mr. Miller, principal of FBCS:
Acts 20:35 ~ “I have showed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Last Wednesday in chapel, we spent some time thinking together about the culture and country of Myanmar as it relates to our FBCS Christmas gift giving, “To Asia with Love.” Our human nature tends to give when there is something for us in return. I was impressed this year in a new way the significance of giving when we cannot expect anything materially in return. The gifts of students and parents were given with no strings attached and no hope of a return gift. It is up to the Lord to give the blessing for the sacrificial giving that took place. This shifts the focus away from ourselves and onto God and the work He wants to accomplish in His international kingdom.
The response to “To Asia with Love” was overwhelming this year. I bless the Lord and all of you for making material sacrifices on behalf of others the other side of our world.
