Good teachers are always looking for ways to grow and develop. Attending Summer Term is one way that teachers can invest time and energy to increase their effectiveness as teachers. Many schools are encouraging that investment by offering financial support to teachers attending Summer Term at Faith Builders. You can download our brochure, review information about the term, or apply online below.

I just sent our spring newsletter (issue 91) to press. Those on our mailing list should receive it in several weeks, but here’s your chance to get an advance copy. This edition includes the following:
The feature article is titled "Equipping Kingdom Citizens: Why History Matters in Mennonite Schools," written by Patrick Heatwole, a teacher and assistant principal in Blackville, South Carolina. The article is available as a separate download here.
I’ve posted updated information about College Student Weekend, planned this year for July 2-5, 2009. The weekend schedule for seminar and retreat is available, along with a downloadable application and online application.
The Seminar (Friday) is a one-day conference on “Developing a Christian Mind,” filled with lecture, breakout sessions for discussion, and study of the philosophies young people may encounter on college campuses. Speakers at the seminar include Patrick Heatwole, Lois Hershberger, and Jonas Sauder.
The Retreat (Friday evening-Sunday afternoon) is a weekend for young people in college to engage peers and mentors with their questions and struggles. It’s a safe place to discuss and think about college experiences and our Mennonite heritage. Activities include small-group discussions, thought-provoking sessions, panel discussion of issues, organized recreation, and times for relaxing and visiting. Dave Nisly from Manassas, VA, will be the guest speaker for the retreat.
Updated: download link should work now.
